Em 1980, foi inaugurado o segundo museu, em Veneza, na Itália. É o museu Peggy Guggenheim, que abriga a coleção pessoal da sobrinha de Solomon, e que é devotado à arte moderna, especialmente movimentos como o Cubismo, o Surrealismo e o Expressionismo Abstrato. Em 1997, foram inaugurados os museus Guggenheim de Bilbao, na Espanha, e de Berlim, na Alemanha (este em parceria com o Deutsche Bank).
O quinto Guggenheim, ainda em construção, é o de Abu Dhabi (foto), nos Emirados Árabes Unidos. Com quase 42 mil metros quadrados, será o maior de todos. O Guggenheim Abu Dhabi ficará na ilha Saadiyat, a cerca de 500 metros do litoral de Abu Dhabi.
